National Volunteer Week

An organization’s sustainable growth can only be achieved by understanding the impact it has on the community and by actively participating to improve the lives of others. This week, Vitalus wants to join in celebrating national volunteer week by acknowledging our 4th year of our Day for a Day program. Vitalus is passionate about providing Care and giving back to our community. In 2017, we launched our Day for a Day program. This program gives the opportunity for all our employees to take eight hours of paid volunteer time to encourage giving back to our community.

To support the growing success of this program, we formed the Community Connection Committee (CCC). Since January 2020, this committee of eight employees continue to support Canuck Place’s Fraser Valley Campus, David Lede House, and have built a strong connection with Archway Abbotsford Food Bank.  We have volunteered in four food packing events for the Starfish Pack Program, an Archway Abbotsford Food Bank program. This program provides nutritious food for the weekend for kids that are in need in our Abbotsford community.  We also regularly volunteer to sort food and donations at Archway’s warehouse.  To date, we have more than 260 volunteer hours and 40% of our employees participate in the Day for a Day Program! For Vitalus it is important to provide volunteering opportunities to our team as we recognize the importance of community involvement for sustainable growth. We look forward to continuing our efforts to improve the lives of our employees and our community.
